RYS 200 Yoga Alliance accredited, YTAA accredited (with the level 2 Mentoring program) recognised by OAMPS and AON insurance so you can start teaching right away!

Samadhi Yoga has one of the most well regarded and comprehensive Yoga Teacher Training courses in Australia, now in it's sixth year with graduates teaching all over the world, from Japan to London and Perth to Tasmania. The course has been developed and fine-tuned over the years by director Katie Manitsas with the help of Katie's teacher Simon Low (The Yoga Academy, UK) and deeply inspired and supported by Donna Farhi (NZ) as well as Sharron Gannon and David Life of Jivamukti Yoga.

Many choose the Samadhi Yoga Teacher Training program as a way of deepening their understanding of yoga, others are looking for a career change. You can become a yoga teacher with qualifications recognised in Australia and throughout the world through the Samadhi Yoga Teacher Training program. Upon completion of the training and examinations you will be fully qualified and able to gain accreditation and insurance to teach yoga.

The training is designed to give you a comprehensive grounding in the philosophy of yoga as well as the practical aspects of teaching asana, pranayama and meditation. The focus of the course is to give a broad understanding of the different schools and styles of yoga – teachers may choose to specialise after qualifying. The course has over 300 hours of training, which allows a great depth of information to be covered.

The course is deliberately eclectic in nature and aims to provide a thorough introduction to the many aspects of yoga practice.  Students from all yogic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The training is intensive and thereby suitable for those coming from interstate and overseas. A willingness to commit to solid self-practice, personal transformation and a dedicated home study is imperative.

The Teachers:
Katie Manitsas: is a co-director of Samadhi Yoga, she is the first Certified Advanced Jivamukti Yoga teacher in Australia. She has also studied extensively with Simon Low from the Yoga Academy in the UK.  She is a Sadaka-In-Training with the Wise Earth School of  Ayurveda and is currently being mentored by Mother Maya.  Katie's  broad background is reflected in her classes which are as much about atmosphere as they are about asana (postures). Her classes incorporate music and inspirational readings as well as elements of breathing practice and meditation. Katie has trained in the UK, U.S, India and Australia. Her book, 'Spiritual Survival in the City' is on sale now. Katie is mother to two year old Christos and new baby Ziggy; and has recently completed training as a doula (birth companion),

Idit Tamir-Heffer, Now DIrector of Teacher Training at Samadhi Yoga:  is a Samadhi trained teacher who has always been drawn strongly to Asia. She is a 500RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance and holds the "Advanced Diploma for Yoga teaching" by Nature Care College. Idit begun her practice of Hatha Yoga whilst traveling through Asia, since then she has studied different styles of yoga and regularly trains with varied well known international teachers including Donna Farhi, Sarah Powers, Simon Low, Seane Corne, Sharon Gannon, David life and many more, being inspired by their wisdom and their different techniques. Yoga has influenced Idit's life and she hopes to share this gift with as many beings as possible in the hope that it will benefit others as much as it has benefited her. The kind of yoga classes she teaches are varied and postures are adjusted to meet the needs of her individual students accordingly. Idit is also mother to little Inbar.

There are several tutors and assistants on the course, all expert in their fields and all with a number of years experience in teacher training. Other course tutors include specialists in the fields of anatomy and physiology, Sanskrit and ayurveda. The training features guest teachers for some modules.
