11th Sept 7.30pm Bhagavad Gita - What are the main messages and themes of this great yogic text? How might we begin to integrate these themes and messages into teaching our yoga asana classes?
18th Sept 7.30pm Teaching Chanting - Developing the skills and confidence to teach chanting within the context of a yoga asana class … going beyond OM!
25th Sept 7.30pm Teaching Vinyasa - How to teach accurate, flowing vinyasa practice. We will also focus on a deeper look at what vinyasa is and why it is such a useful part of the yoga practice.
2nd Oct 7.30pm Using Sanskrit in your Teaching Keeping Sanskrit alive! - Revising Sanskrit names and some key chants. Also we will discuss the importance of using the Sanskrit language and how to explain the reasons for this to your students.
9th Oct 7.30pm Teaching in reference to the Subtle Body- Granthis, bandhas, charkas, nadis … how to explain to your students in a meaningful way how the different facets of the subtle body are affected by our practice.
16th Oct – no workshop due to retreat
23rd Oct 7.30pm Themes for your Classes - Whether your theme focuses on an aspect of the physical body, a philosophical teaching or something as simple (yet profound) as the breath this session will help you weave a theme into your yoga asana class plans.
